NYCTracks Presents: Sounds of the System

Next week, performers performers from across the New York City area will begin trying out for the Music Under New York program through NYC Transit. Some 350 performers currently perform at 25 locations across the city. From tap dancers and pianos, to musical saws, transit riders are surrounded on their daily commutes by sounds galore.

NYCTracks descended into the subterranean sound system to see (and hear) what commuters in some of the city’s busiest stations were listening to. Check out our interactive map below to see where we visited. Click on our icons for videos and audio slideshows of some great stories from performers.
